It's time to start planning your next adventure!

I am very excited to confirm the 2020 Photography Course Dates for Thula Thula & Lions Rock

Both of these places take up a lot of space in my heart and the each have their very own special heartbeats. Thula Thula and Lions Rock contribute hugely to conservation and even by us being there, we help support these worthy causes as their profits go back into the conservation projects.

We get, incredible experiences back in nature trading the rat race for some soul time that will feed your passion for photography!

A Short clip made for the last course at Thula Thula in July...

The photography course will start from the basics and take you through to manual photography, as well as techniques, effects, composition and creative styles. It is structured so that we get to make the most of our beautiful surrounds and spend as much time as we can outdoors. Needless to say are days will full. I have heard over and over again, that it is more than just a photography course because of the memories, special moments, incredible sightings and friendships that are made during this time.

Reviews:

Marnie Le Page Absolutely does not get better than this! 💕 Thula Thula is such a special place to learn and practice photography and Kim Mcleod is a great teacher! It has been such an incredible experience - and I keep reliving the experience through my photos!

The most incredible week spent with amazing people, cameras, wildlife and the best game rangers. Elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, array of birdlife. Memories to be relived forever. Thula Thula stole my heart in Lawrences book, and after reading Francoise book _ there was a calling. My experience at TT this week exceeded any expectations I had and the people who are Thula Thula are incredibly united in the conservation plight. I learnt so much more than just photography this week and lived moments of the books too. A special thank you to Kim, Richard and Victor for making each day an adventure and a triumph. The scrumptious meals prepared by the team, boma fires and more than comfortable accomodation added to the experience. My photography has improveded a notch thanks to the great theory and practicals set by Kim. The post practice exercises will cement the course for me. The elephants were my number one priority but all the rhinos have a special story too and I love them as much as the elephants. Wishing you all things great and may the amazing work you all do at Thula Thula go from strength to strength. I will definitely be back......one day. 🐘

Wildlife photography takes time to master and in order to take captivating photos, it is essential to have an intimate understanding of your equipment and your subject, understanding animal behaviour is also key to being ready for a perfect photo opportunity. The very well-known Rangers Promise & Victor will be with us at all times teaching us about the bush and the incredible Thula Thula history. During the course you will be encouraged to develop your own style and unique vision to share with others.

We start the day with coffee and spend some time outside working on Manual followed by a good breakfast before the 2 hour theory session, lunch, more theory and then the real treat of the day is going out on game drive where you will test your new knowledge. You will be welcomed back to the campfire for dinner and chats under the stars.

Theory ~ Photography Essentials ~ Composition ~ Techniques ~ Tips and Tricks ~ Photography Exercises, Basic post processing in Light Room & practical every day!!!
